Open: 9:00 - 4:00pm Monday to Friday
Join us on Wednesday 12th March between 4-6pm at Intercom Trust, and find out more about who is supporting people affected by cancer. We will be joined by Alex Moseley from FORCE Cancer Centre, Exeter. Alex will talk about what support is on offer to you from FORCE, including counselling, complimentary therapies, support groups, physio support, anxiety management and lots more.
There will also be information about National Support networks through MacMillan Cancer and OUTPatients, the UK’s only charity supporting LGBTQIA+ people affected by cancer.
This will be an opportunity to share your thoughts through conversation about the impact of cancer on LGBTQIA+ people, what might we need that would be helpful for local healthcare providers, and what you might like to see happen in Exeter in the future.
This event is in partnership with Pink Plates & Shipwrecks, A Creative Arc project led by Writer Natalie McGrath. Who is exploring the affect of cancer on LGBTQIA+ people. Natalie has been affected by cancer and had cancer herself. This has led her to wanting to see if there is anything she can do to connect partners across the city, and potentially explore creativity as a way of navigating difficult and challenging times in our lives.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided. There will be vegan and gluten free options.
This event is for ages 18+.
You can reserve your place on our Eventbrite page.
If you can’t make the event, but would like to share your thoughts or ask some questions about support for LGBTQIA+ people in Exeter affected by cancer, please contact us on office@intercomtrust.org.uk.
